She previously served as Washington bureau chief for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, where she contributed to the newspaper’s Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the Tree of Life synagogue shooting. Her reporting career also includes work with Chalkbeat Detroit, Bridge Michigan, the Springfield News-Sun, the Waterbury Republican-American, and The Herald in Connecticut. Tracie is known for her ability to explore the emotional depth behind hard news, giving voice to individuals at the most defining moments of their lives.
“I know the power of words. I also know their limitations. I have interviewed people at the highest and lowest points of their lives–at moments when they are unable to verbalize their full experience or to reconcile the relationship between the facts of a story and the visceral reactions they elicit. Healing Bells is the bridge between words and emotion.”
