Kiara Droz Ruiz
Niece of Andrea Ruiz Costas, veterinary student

A biologist from Ponce, Puerto Rico, Kiara Droz Ruiz is the daughter of Alexandra Ruiz Costas and the beloved niece of Andrea Ruiz Costas. She is currently studying to become a veterinarian. Her journey with Healing Bells reflects a commitment to raising awareness about gender-based violence and honoring her aunt’s legacy through youth-led advocacy and community empowerment. Kiara’s voice adds to the intergenerational healing and remembrance that Ni une más represents.
“My aunt’s death and everything that came afterwards was a jarring and painful experience. It now serves as a cruel reminder that we need to make a change in our ways of thinking. Machismo (misogyny) is treated as a joke when it shouldn’t because it leaves behind many victims, be it of sexual assault, feminicide/femicide, domestic violence, etc.
Knowing that Healing Bells is out there giving support to those who need it and that the Ni une más production is raising awareness, in turn brings me a sense of ease knowing that my dear titi Andrea Ruiz Costas will never be forgotten.”
