Kay Hanna DeLuca

Pharmacist & actor

Kay Hanna DeLuca

Kay Hanna DeLuca is a retired pharmacist who spent the majority of her career as pharmacy director at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord, Michigan. She shares deep pride with her husband, Tad, in their three daughters and their first grandchild. Kay prefers quiet moments in nature—gardening, beekeeping, reading, and knitting—and brings a grounded and compassionate presence to the Ni une más community.

While not a survivor of sexual assault or abuse, Kay’s lived experience as a woman in society includes a lifetime of sexual harassment, which began in childhood and continued into adulthood. Through her participation in Healing Bells, she stands in solidarity with survivors and offers unwavering support—especially for those who may feel unseen.

“I am not a victim of sexual assault or abuse. As a woman in our current society, I have experienced sexual harassment most of my life. I have always been tall and by the age of 11 or 12, I was often mistaken for being much older. Adult men would make inappropriate comments, wink, brush against me or touch me. I was a child and was so frightened and confused. The harassment may have started earlier for me than others but most women have experienced the wolf call on the street, the pinch or brush past in the workplace, the crude jokes, and then been accused of not having a sense of humor.
I am participating in Ni une más primarily to support my husband, Tad. But I also want to support anyone who has ever been traumatized by sexual advances, assault and abuse.”
