Chuck Christian
Former football player & artist

Chuck Christian is a Detroit native and former tight end for the University of Michigan Wolverines (1977 a 1981), during which the team claimed three Big Ten Championships and a Rose Bowl victory. With a degree in art and a legendary presence on and off the field, Chuck is known for his resilience, humor, and rugged good looks. While at U-M, he met his wife of 43 years, Dr. LaDonna Christian, now a nursing professor at Simmons University in Boston.
After surviving sexual abuse at the hands of the U-M athletic team doctor, Chuck lived for decades with a fear of medical care, a fear that was only broken after being diagnosed with Stage IV prostate cancer. Through treatment in Vienna, he overcame more than 200 metastasized tumors, and continues his health journey with strength and purpose. A pillar of support and love for his family, friends, and the Ni une más team, Chuck channels his experience into encouragement, advocacy, and healing through solidarity.
“It’s important to do what we’re doing because so many people in this situation feel alone. We want you to know you’re not alone. We have your back. We’re with you. It’s okay to speak out and tell what happened. You’re not the problem. The predator is the problem. It’s not your fault.”
